PBC Today is pleased to announce that they hosted the first in a series of free-to-watch webinars that connect expert speakers with a select audience of industry professionals to explore all aspects of the built environment.
These hour-long panel discussions will be a platform to take a deep dive into a chosen subject, to scrutinise, evangelise or criticise.
Future Homes Standard 2025
The Future Homes Standard is set to come into force in 2025, requiring CO2 emissions for new homes to be 75%-80% lower than those built to current standards.
With the full technical specification due to be published for consultation this year, this webinar examined this new blueprint for the construction of homes and asked if the industry is on the right track for 2025.
Our expert panel discussed the impact of the changes already introduced to Building Regulations governing ventilation, overheating and conservation of energy and power, as well as the “fabric first” approach to energy efficiency.
They also discussed the challenges and opportunities in moving towards “zero carbon ready” homes in terms of design, skills and, crucially, handling the associated costs in light of the current economic backdrop and the geopolitical situation.
