Popular CPDs highlight how Actis Hybrid offers “insulation one-stop-shop”

Insulation specialist Actis has unveiled its 2022 programme of CPD training which, as well as providing essential information on addressing thermal bridging and compliance, illustrates how the Hybrid system offers a “one-stop” insulation and membrane shop

The complete Actis Hybrid system, which is suitable for new builds and refurbishment projects, consists of insulation and membranes, meaning the user can source all products from one manufacturer without the need to go elsewhere for add-ons.

Honeycomb insulation Hybris is available in a range of thicknesses and, combined with insulating vapour control layer HControl Hybrid and insulating breather membrane Boost R Hybrid, can enable specifiers to achieve the more demanding U-values being introduced under the 2022 Building Regulations.

The changes, expected to come into force in June, include a “notional” U-value for pitched roofs of 0.11W/m2K – something easily achievable with the Actis Hybrid system.

The roof variant of the insulating breather membrane – Boost R Hybrid Roof – covers 15 sq m per roll and includes special features – a lap and built-in adhesive tape to make installation easier.

The free, online Actis U-value simulator allows the designer to play around with different combinations of the products to ensure the desired U-value is achieved.

All four CE marked products are accepted by the NHBC, LABC Warranty and Premier Guarantee, when used in accordance with the certification.

Free training sessions

Actis’ two free CPD training sessions are both certified by the Construction CPD Certification Service.

The RIBA-approved module on Addressing the Performance Gap with Reflective Insulation,  looks at the impact of thermal bridging on a building’s energy performance and runs on the fourth Thursday of every month.

Proven Compliant Systems, which looks at how installers can ensure their insulation and membrane use complies with Building Regulations, will be hosted on the second Thursday of every other month, with its initial 2022 session on 10 February.

The sessions are aimed at architects, contractors, building control officers and specifiers across England and Wales.

The CPDs are also available face-to-face to groups such as architectural practices or local building authorities or as part of a wider construction event.

Book  Addressing the Performance Gap with Reflective Insulation on any of  the fourth Thursday of every month sessions at 1pm here.

And register for Proven Compliant Systems at 1pm on the second Thursday of every other month from February onwards here.
