The ABC+ Warranty winter update is here featuring HSBC’s approval of ABC+ 10 Year Structural Warranty, the New Home Quality Board, the new requirements for electric charging vehicle points, plus awards

This is great news for HSBC mortgage customers who are purchasing a new or newly converted property which has been certified by ABC+ Warranty. Property owners have complete peace of mind knowing that their new home has been built to the highest of quality standards.

Attention ALL housebuilders and property developers!

This is an ideal time for builders & developers to take time out to read this IMPORTANT information regarding the Registration Requirements of ALL New Build Homes with the New Homes Quality Board (NHQB) from January 2022. Under the new rules, rogue builders will have to pay compensation for shoddy works carried out.

ABC+ Warranty- Shortlisted for Business Awards

New building control requirements: Electric vehicle charging points

From 15 June 2022, every new home, including those created from a change of use, with associated parking must have an EV charge point. Residential buildings undergoing a major renovation which will have more than 10 parking spaces must have at least one EV charge point per dwelling with associated parking, along with cable routes in all spaces without charge points.

All new non-residential buildings with more than 10 associated parking spaces must have a minimum of one charge point and cable routes for one in five, ie 20%, of the total number of parking spaces. All non-residential buildings undergoing a major renovation that will have more than 10 parking spaces must have a minimum of one charge point, along with cable routes for one in five spaces.

There have been no announcements for EV charging requirements for Scotland, Wales, or Northern Ireland.
