Developer HG Living submits plans for new Leamington student accommodation scheme and creative co-working hub
Warwick District Council (WDC) has estimated that around 5,800 students are currently living in Leamington Spa, but less than 20% are being accommodated in purpose-built student accommodation.
The development will include a 328-bed student accommodation scheme and creative hub comprising 18,392 sq. ft. of co-working spaces along with a café.
The Leamington student accommodation and co-working hub scheme includes sustainable features
Such as:
- onsite sustainable energy generation
- rainwater harvesting
- sustainable travel infrastructure
- extensive tree planting and landscaping.
The co-working hub will offer flexible spaces for start-up and new businesses, with the potential to create 135 potential jobs.

The architecture will reflect the industrial and canal side warehousing and will incorporate high quality public realm spaces to become a focal point crossing of the canal – encouraging pedestrians and cyclists to make use of it.
