Housing provider Orbit has appointed Matt Bundy, previously the lead on major works at Westminster City Council, as the New head of property improvements
Matt Bundy has been announced as the new head of property improvements for social housing provider Orbit.
Previously head of major works at Westminster City Council for nearly a decade, Matt will lead on Orbit’s large-scale investment works across its property portfolio, including its decarbonisation programme.
His thirty year career also includes 14 years in surveyor roles before moving to project leadership roles.
Decarbonisation will be a key goal of the head of property improvement
“Despite the impact of numerous national and global issues, Orbit has continued to invest in its homes and communities,” Matt commented. “Orbit is continuously assessing how it can improve existing homes and deliver a better experience for customers. I’m really excited to see how we can develop the delivery of our major works programmes as part of our commitment to ensure that everyone has a safe and comfortable home and continue on our journey to improve the energy efficiency of our housing stock as we progress towards the UK’s 2050 net zero carbon target.”
Orbit manages a portfolio of over 46,500 properties primarily across the Midlands, the East, London and the South East of the UK.
99.9% of its homes meet the Decent Homes Standard and 82.2% currently have an EPC Band of C or above.
Orbit has also been recognised for high safety standards
Orbit has been awarded RoSPA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents) Gold awards for health and safety and customer safety for the last three consecutive years. They have also been named in the Sunday Times Top 100 Best Companies to Work For in the not-for-profit sector and are proud to have achieved BS9997, fire risk management system (FRMS).
During 2021/22, Orbit invested over £81.5m in its Property Repairs and Capital Investment programmes and has committed to ensuring all homes are EPC Band C or above by 2030.
