John Sisk & Son (Sisk), Avant Homes and Tilbury Douglas have recently announced appointments in a range of construction management roles

Sisk has announced several internal senior appointments across various construction management roles.

Dave Hill will become Sisk’s regional director of performance and engineering, a newly created role. Hill has been with Sisk for over five years and will use his 30 years of industry experience in the role.

Mike Widdicks has been promoted to the position of regional director of new sectors. Widdicks’ has been with the company for over five years as a contracts manager, framework manager and business development manager.

Robin Metcalf has also been promoted to the regional director responsible for local authority and private clients in the North. Robin has 28 years of experience in the industry.

Tracy Galligan has been promoted to senior commercial manager, where she will work alongside Robin. Galligan joined Sisk over five years ago and has played a vital role in its success. Of the company’s A19 Coast Road project in Newcastle. Mike, Robin, and Tracy will all join the UK Civils regional board.

Avant Homes and Tilbury Douglas join Sisk in making appointments in construction management roles

Avant Homes have announced the appointment of a new group marketing manager to support the company’s nationwide growth strategy. Alicia Hattersley has joined the company from Gleeson Homes, where she was brand and communications manager for the last two-and-a-half years. Hattersley has a first-class honours degree in multimedia journalism from Manchester Metropolitan University, as well as experience working in in-house and agency marketing roles.

Hattersley arrives at Avant Homes following the launch of the company’s new operating business in the North West. It is Avant’s eighth regional office and will complement the other sites in Scotland, Yorkshire and the Midlands.

“Making a positive difference through marketing activity to help people buy new homes is something I find very rewarding,” said Hattersley.

Avant currently employs over 600 people, and the company has ambitions to grow across its existing regions and beyond.

“Being able to join Avant Homes when it is expanding at pace presented the ideal opportunity for me. I am going to further evolve our proposition, implement new campaigns and grow our marketing team to continue providing excellent service to our regional operating businesses,” added Hattersley.

Tilbury Douglas announces new national education director

UK building, infrastructure, engineering and fit-out business, Tilbury Douglas, has announced the appointment of Ben Hull as the company’s national education director.

Hull has over 20 years of experience with Tilbury Douglas, most recently working as the regional design and planning manager. Hull has a wealth of knowledge on the sector and industry and started his career at the company as an undergraduate.

“It is great to see the education sector embracing recent technological advances and leading the way in several areas, including carbon reduction and the use of modern construction methods, providing a real opportunity for construction innovation. Within my new specialised role, I will have the opportunity to help push these innovations further forward,” said Hull.

“I would like to congratulate Ben on being appointed for this important role and we look forward to our continued success in the sector,” added Andrew Jowett, strategic director at Tilbury Douglas.
