The Bedfordshire-based contract flooring specialist Axiom Group is headed into administration, one day after staff were seen seeking new employment online
Axiom Group has filed a notice of intention to appoint an administrator.
The company, which was established in 1979, has been led by group managing director Nick Edwards since 2008. He has been with the company for over twenty years and led a management buyout in October 2008, which allowed the previous owners to retire.
Axiom Group boasted four offices across the UK and had worked across a variety of projects including but not limited to: “national retail chains, airports, corporate offices, government buildings, healthcare environments, educational establishments, residential developments and public buildings.”
Notable projects completed by Axiom Group include screed and flooring work at Alder Hay Children’s Hospital, and flooring work at Manchester and Heathrow Airports.
Axiom Group’s descent into administration has been rapid
Recent figures show that Axiom Group had a turnover of £17.8m in 2022, with a pre-tax profit of £781,177.
However, the company site domain is now inactive and available to be bought.
Members of the 44 staff were reportedly seeking new employment on LinkedIn due to the “sudden collapse of the Axiom Group Ltd”.
