Great Places Housing Group has revealed the successful bidders for its four-year Innovation Chain North Framework

A total of 103 suppliers have been selected as part of the ICN housing framework, comprising 34 contractors and 69 consultants.

The organisations were chosen based on their technical competence, pricing, and commitment to social value.

Caddick, Countryside Properties, Lovell, P Casey, Termrim, and Seddon were among the firms securing spots on the largest-value lots.

The framework is set to run until June 2028.

Aims of the ICN housing framework

The framework aims to facilitate the delivery of new homes across the north of England.

The funding will support Great Places’ affordable development programme and other housing associations and local authorities in the region.

Increase in bidders and new lots

The renewal of the framework saw a significant 23% increase in bidders, with 206 companies applying.

Most bidders applied for multiple lots, resulting in 802 bids being evaluated across 37 lots.

The renewed ICN housing framework introduces new lots, including apartment construction, mechanical and electrical (M&E) engineering, and retrofit consultants.

Emphasis on social value

Social value remains a key focus, with successful firms pledging to offer apprenticeships, work experience opportunities, and volunteering hours.

The previous four-year framework’s suppliers are expected to deliver over £20m in added social value.

The new framework will help to tackle the housing crisis

Commenting on the announcement Joanne Whitehead, our development performance manager, responsible for managing the framework, said: “We’d like to congratulate the 103 suppliers who have been awarded a place on the new ICN framework.

“Ahead of our latest tender, we consulted with colleagues across the sector, existing contractors, and consultants, as well as drawing learning from managing the last framework to design a new framework which is fit for purpose as we move forward with our collective ambitions.

“We were delighted with the response from the market and received a large number of high-quality submissions and substantial social value pledges for our communities.

“The new framework will continue to ensure Great Places and our peer organisations have tried and tested partners to help us to deliver our extensive development programmes and to help our collective ambitions to tackle the housing crisis.”
