LCI-UK’s Lean Construction Summit 2015 will take place on the 29th October at Birmingham Metropolitan College

The theme of this year’s Lean Construction Summit is:

Lean Deployment – Creating the conditions for step-change performance

To meet the UK’s infrastructure and construction demands over the next 10 years it is widely accepted that, as an industry, we will need to work differently and make step changes in the speed, quality and value that is delivered.

Join us for an intensive day of learning and networking. We are delighted to welcome as keynote speakers:

  • Mark Bew MBE, the Head of the UK Government’s Task Group for BIM;
  • Ben Brooks, Project Director High Output Track Renewals, Network Rail; and
  • Trond Bolviken, Director of Strategy, HR and HSE, Veidekke Scandinavia.

The BIM-related sessions are as follows:

  • Todd Elkins of Autodesk will introduce BIM 360 Plan
  • Jaimie Johnston and Brian Swain will offer a session on Advanced BIM and Lean
  • Lauri Koskela will offer a session on the Theory of Lean Construction
  • David Adamson, LCI-UK director, will offer a session on Lean in Design and Construction Projects
  • Algan Tezel of the University of Salford will offer a session on Conventional and BIM based Visual Management.

There will be 36 small group sessions on offer which provide you with the opportunity to learn from others about how they are deploying lean in their organisations and projects.

For further information into how BIM feeds into the principles of Lean Construction, creating a common ground of improvement, please read the article here from Lauri Koskela, Professor of Construction and Project Management at the University of Huddersfield.
