A planning application to construct hundreds of new homes in Leicestershire has been submitted by housing developer Persimmon
Planning permission has been submitted to build new homes in Leicestershire. The application, which was put forward by housing giant Persimmon, has been submitted to the council.
The plans, if approved, will see 290 new homes built on agricultural land between Leicester and Market Harborough.
The site, which is around 30 acres, will be located on the southern side of the village of Fleckney. Currently, the land is being used for livestock to graze.
The proposal was submitted to Harborough District Council and comprises of a range of dwellings. This includes two-, three-, four-, and five-bed properties.
Of the 290 homes put forward for construction a total of 70 will be classed as affordable.
Oasis Urban Design said in a planning statement that the new homes would have a “positive impact” on the economy by “supporting local businesses and increasing the viability of local services”.
New jobs could also be potentially created by the project.
This new development adds to Persimmon’s portfolio in the area. The housebuilder also has sites in Hinckley, Leicester, and Market Bosworth.
