Wates has launched a national residential arm that will allow the firm to expand its investment portfolio
Wates has launched a new residential development arm, which will separate its new build and social housing businesses.
The new arm will see its investment portfolio expanded and will aim to increase private housing sales. Wates Residential will form part of Wates Residential Developments Group and will function alongside Wates Developments — the group’s investment and planning arm.
The firm’s social housing maintenance business will stay under the Wates Living Space brand.
Wates Residential managing director Jo Jamieson said: “Our new business strategy will enable us to build our relationship with our core social landlord client base, while also unlocking new and innovative development opportunities, to which we will bring our extensive place-making expertise.”
Residential Developments Group managing director David Brocklebank said: “Bringing Wates Residential together with Wates Developments allows us to combine our strong capabilities across the growing residential sector.
“Notably we can offer land investment and scheme promotion, specialist planning delivery and residential land sales, plus our developments to include joint venture partnerships in both private and public sectors.”
