WYG appoints Stephen Gleave as Strategic Adviser

Professional services firm WYG announced the appointment of Stephen Gleave as Strategic Adviser to its Urban & Landscape Design business

With over 30 years’ experience in Urban Design and Town Planning , Stephen has been appointed for his is an expertise in placemaking, the multi-faceted approach to the planning, design and management of public spaces.

Commenting on the news, Stephen said: “The opportunity to contribute my ideas and work with this team comes at a perfect time.

WYG has an impressive portfolio of clients across sectors that understand the importance of placemaking and seek us out knowing that we can add value through the quality of places and buildings we help create.

“There is great potential in applying the unity of a multidisciplinary approach.”

In his new role, Stephen will lead the design and delivery of sustainable projects advising on imaginative design solutions that transform public spaces. He will join WYG’s National Planning Board.

Stephen will join the team after spending the past three years at planning consultancy firm, Turley as Senior Director. During his time with the company, Stephen advised on the national initiative ‘Shaping Better Places’ and managed a team of designers as they worked with communities to regenerate and enhance UK cities, towns and villages.

Before he worked with Turley, Stephen was Chairman of architectural firm Taylor Young Limited.

To commemorate Stephen’s passion for education, he was named an Hon. Visiting Professor at the University of Liverpool.
