BakerHicks appointed to UK Atomic Energy Authority Framework

The multi-disciplinary design and engineering company, has been appointed to the UK Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA) framework to deliver a range of technical engineering services in support of its UK fusion programme

The scope of the framework covers a range of UK commissions including;

  • Joint European Torus (JET)
  • Remote Applications in Challenging Environments (RACE)
  • Mega Amp Spherical Tokamak (MAST)

In addition, the framework covers two European projects, the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) in France and European Spallation Source (ESS) in Sweden.

Paula Barham, Senior Procurement Manager said: “BakerHicks demonstrated a clear understanding of our needs and a sound ability to deliver across highly technical projects.

UKAEA manages the UK fusion programme at the Culham Centre for Fusion Energy (CCFE), one of the world’s leading fusion research laboratories. A full range of engineering design services are being sought across five Lots, including; mechanical and electrical engineering, control & instrumentation, piping, civil engineering, process engineering, building services and robotics.
