The Supply Chain Sustainability School has elected three new members from across the built environment sector to join the board for 2018
Director Re-Thinking (Group Sustainability Director) at Willmott Dixon, Julia Barrett; Head of Sustainability at Canary Wharf Group, Martin Gettings; and Head of Sustainability at VINCI Facilities, Victoria Hughes were chosen by 77 partners voting on the board.
Drawn from across the built environment, the new members bring with them a wealth of knowledge from the building, property and facilities management sectors.
Commenting on the new appointments, Chair of the Supply Chain Sustainability School, Shaun McCarthy OBE said:
“The election of Members to the Board is always a tough process, given the number and calibre of nominees.
“I am delighted to welcome the new additions and deeply grateful to all the candidates – every one of whom has already brought so much to the School and will undoubtedly continue to make valuable individual and collective contributions.
“At times of political uncertainty and market instability, the sustainability of the built environment is critical in helping futureproof our health, wealth, wellbeing and welfare. World-class leadership on matters of economics, environment and social equity is therefore more important than ever.”
Leadership is provided by a School Board comprising nine elected representatives of the Partners.
The announcement of new Board Members marks the conclusion of the key vote for 2018.
The role of the Board is vital to the School’s representative mandate and reflects the industry-leading influence of the Partners as well as the many and varied interests of the wider construction community.
The Board is responsible for fiscal governance and setting strategic direction for the School and is independently chaired by Shaun McCarthy OBE.
With almost 3,000 Member Companies, 5,000 Individual Members and over 30,000 Registered Users, the Supply Chain Sustainability School continues to grow and develop at speed and scale.
