Kier Living progresses major Homes England Joint Venture with new appointment – Nick Moore as CEO of Kier Community Living

Nick will take his 30 years’ experience within the house building sector, including in his ongoing role as regional managing director for Kier Living Eastern, to drive the partnership forward and help the JV to deliver a total of 5,400 homes in areas of the country with the greatest need.

The appointment comes as the pioneering collaboration between Government and the housebuilding arm of Kier Group completes its first six months in operation which saw 100 homes completed and new schemes providing a pipeline of over 2,800 homes across the UK.

Nick Moore as CEO means focus will be on working closely with other regional teams across Kier Living and key stakeholders to deliver much needed new homes.

Benefitting from Kier Living’s nationwide footprint, the JV will utilise the experience and skills of its teams to help accelerate housing in these sought-after areas. All new homes will be delivered in-line with the aims of the JV to create diverse communities, with 30% affordable housing and the prioritisation of a local workforce.

Imparting vital housebuilding skills is a priority and its apprenticeship programme continues to provide opportunities for new talent to join the built environment, from ground workers to electricians and plumbers.

John Anderson, executive director for Kier Living, states: “Our joint venture with Homes England and Cross Keys Homes is progressing well. Within six months, our vision of accelerating housing supply has already become a reality.

“Nick will help drive consistency and performance across the country, working closely with each of the other Kier Living regional businesses.

Nick commented: “This partnership is not just about building houses, it’s about creating diverse and effective communities. Working with the living regions, I look forward to driving the JV forward to leave a lasting footprint both locally and nationally as we help the Government meet its housing targets.”

Nick Walkley, Chief Executive of Homes England, said: “This innovative, national Joint Venture with Kier was the first of its kind for Homes England and we’re delighted with the progress that’s been made to date in getting more homes built where they are needed the most.

“I’m pleased to welcome Nick Moore on board and look forward to working with him as the project progresses.”
