Portable building manufacturer, Pickerings, has been awarded a major contract to provide a modular building consisting of over 150 modules

The modular building segments will form a large two-storey building being installed at the head office site of a well-known organisation in the West Country. Staff will be decanted temporarily into the building during refurbishment of their adjoining permanent offices.

Pickerings was selected on the basis of their high quality modular construction techniques, overall customer service and offering the most comprehensive and commercially attractive tender.

Pickerings managing director, Neil Moss, said: “We are pleased to have been selected to provide a temporary solution for a large workforce as we continue our growth of larger projects and newer markets.

“Our modular buildings are the perfect solution for decanting staff during building refurbishment. This contract demonstrates our commitment in providing quality products and service.”

Pickerings will provide the building modules from one of its eleven nationwide hire depots.

Modular buildings designed around your needs

Formed in 1969, Pickerings (formerly Pickerings Plant Hire) has grown into a firm specialising in the hire of portable site accommodation.

The company has a head office on the Derbyshire and Leicestershire borders and operates from 11 depots located across England. They offer a fleet of robust, well-maintained portable and modular buildings supplied by recognised and trusted manufacturers.

The range of portable accommodation available to hire includes offices, classrooms, healthcare buildings, secure stores, canteens, welfare units, toilets and shower facilities.

Pickerings can create modular buildings up to three storeys high, enabling you to optimise the available space on your site. Inside, the buildings can create large open-plan areas, offering versatile spaces for many different end uses.

Pickerings recently achieved silver status in the Fleet Operators Recognition Scheme, commonly known as FORS.

Following a long-standing accreditation to FORS Bronze at all Pickerings locations its depots in Kent and Aylesbury are the first to achieve FORS Silver. Plans are underway for other depots to work towards achieving silver certification.
