Planning permission has been granted for MHA’s Elthorne Works, a co-location scheme situated on Trumpers Way, Hanwell, in Ealing
MHA London will redevelop the long underutilised industrial site to provide extensive modern and flexible workspace, together with much needed quality private and affordable housing available for both sale and rent.
Elthorne Works will be comprised of 205 apartments in three buildings above a podium of eight townhouses.
Designed by Patel Taylor Architects, the apartments in Ealing will have views across Elthorne Park and landscaped gardens. Each townhouse will have access to both private and communal amenity space.
Elthorne Works has been designed to reflect the industrial heritage of the site whilst embracing the adjacent green space of the neighbouring park.
The innovative design of this co-location scheme combines attractive residential and commercial use on one site; this is a relatively new and exciting concept which offers a unique sense of community.
The modern industrial units on the ground floor will preserve and enhance local employment opportunities, whilst also providing a flexible commercial space which can be easily adapted to suit individual occupier requirements.
Crossrail arrival
A key attraction of the development is the imminent arrival of Crossrail that will transform the lives of West London commuters, bringing many benefits to people living and working in the area, reducing journey times for those commuting across London.
The super-fast commuter service stretching from Reading to Greenwich, will offer superb connectivity, and will stop at the local station, Hanwell, benefitting those living and working at Elthorne Works. Journey times between Hanwell and Bond Street will be cut from 32 minutes to just 17 minutes.
Following a series of public consultations, MHA’s respect for the local community and appreciation of the planners’ vision for the area ensured planning permission was granted for the mixed-use development, which seeks to provide a lasting positive contribution to the area.
