Mace has been chosen to deliver 33 Charterhouse Street, a new green technology-driven office development in Farringdon

Helical plc has chosen Mace to build 33 Charterhouse Street.

Located adjacent to Farringdon Station, opposite the future Museum of London, the 200,000 sq ft scheme will provide over 10 floors of technology-enhanced office space.

Set to become one of Farringdon’s first smart buildings, the scheme will feature an integrated digital platform that will improve the building’s operational efficiency.

It will also support the workspace wellbeing experience for its occupiers, through an employee engagement app.

The design of 33 Charterhouse Street was awarded the UK’s first BREEAM 2018 new construction rating of ‘Outstanding’.

Sustainable measures

Mace’s team will apply its sustainability expertise to reduce the embodied carbon through a variety of measures including, low carbon materials such as ‘Earth Friendly Concrete’ and sustainable design measures.

Sustainable design measures include; a connection to Citigen’s district energy network to supply heating and cooling demand, solar PV panels and a biodiverse green roof.
