BSI, the Centre for Digital Built Britain and the UK BIM Alliance have released updated guidance for information management to support BS EN ISO 19650

The UK BIM Framework has released a new suite of guidance documents to support the BS EN ISO 19650 series.

It offers specific guidance on BS EN ISO 19650-2 the delivery phase of assets and ISO-3 the operational phase.

This suite of guidance documents (which comprises Guidance Parts 1 – 3 and Parts A – F) has been developed in response to a significant feedback exercise, to accommodate the expanding coverage of guidance and to capture the recently published ISO 19650-3.

New content explores Guidance 3, the information management function (Guidance A) and responsibility matrices (Guidance F).

Guidance D now provides examples to demonstrate the content and relationship between different information requirements. These examples are supported by a database and a short, informative video.

Co-editor of the guidance, Sarah Davidson said: “This new suite of guidance has been developed to offer easy to access, structured content.

“It is ever-expanding, and whilst there is still more to do, it now covers many of the themes set out in the ISO 19650 series.

“It is a significant team effort and I am hugely thankful to all the people who continue to offer their time and expertise in authoring and providing shape through feedback”

Co-editor of the guidance and author of Guidance Part 3, David Churcher, added: “I am very pleased that, as part of this update, we have been able to produce some initial guidance for ISO 19650-3 which was only published in the UK on 19 August.”
