West Lindsey District Council has partnered with Keepmoat Homes to deliver a new sustainable neighbourhood at Foxby Lane, Gainsborough
Keepmoat will deliver a mix of modern, high-quality two-, three- and four-bedroom homes, with a range of new homes in West Lindsey.
In total, they are looking to build 454 homes, which will be built in a tranquil woodland setting, adjacent to Warren Wood in the town, offering a green backdrop to the development.
As part of their commitment to the local community, Keepmoat Homes has pledged to support the local area and help generate opportunities in training and employment through the use of subcontractors, work placements and educational visits to the site.
‘A huge step forward’
Deputy leader of West Lindsey District Council, councillor Owen Bierley, said: “This is a huge step forward in our plans to deliver homes in Gainsborough.
“I am pleased to confirm we have formally signed a grant funding agreement with Keepmoat Homes and a collaboration agreement with the Thonock and Somerby Estate.
“This scheme is the first investment Keepmoat have made into Greater Lincolnshire, which recognises our work to regenerate the town centre and our vision for a prosperous future for Gainsborough and West Lindsey.”
The development has been made possible thanks to the support from Homes England, which has allocated £2.19m of Housing Infrastructure Fund (HIF) to accelerate delivery of housing across England.
‘Transform the area’
Dan Crew, regional managing director at Keepmoat Homes, commented: “We’re delighted to be working with West Lindsey District Council and Homes England to deliver this exciting new project in Gainsborough.
“The acquisition is a fantastic opportunity to strengthen our presence in the area and we believe the new development will transform the area and provide an opportunity to grow the town and its economy.
“As a company, we’re committed to providing new homes that support a range of buyers – from first-time buyers to those looking to upsize and we’re confident that the first phase will help a lot of people achieve their dream of owning a new home.”
A date for construction to commence on site will be announced soon.
