The construction team at Canary Wharf Group’s One Park Drive, located in Canary Wharf’s new district, Wood Wharf, have been awarded an NHBC Seal of Excellence at this year’s Pride of the Job Awards
The NHBC’s Pride of the Job Awards recognise the very best site managers and their teams across the UK, as well as the quality buildings they are constructing.
Under the awards umbrella, there is the opportunity for small, medium, multi-storey and large businesses to win Seals of Excellence and Regional Awards.
All site managers, if they are working on a site with NHBC warranty, are automatically entered into the awards, meaning that there were around 11,000 sites eligible for the Pride of the Job Awards this year.
The Canary Warf Group’s One Park Drive team were whittled down to just 450, selected for their excellent standards on site and the quality of construction.
Due to the current social distancing restriction, winners were announced virtually.
Designed by Swiss architect Herzog & de Meuron, One Park Drive is one of the city’s most unique residential buildings with its distinctive geometric façade formed by three unique typologies, making for a real construction feat.
A great achievement
Mark Taylor, operations executive, Canary Wharf Group Contractors, said: “To be recognised with an NHBC Seal of Excellence and announced as London Regional winners is a great achievement for the team!
“A massive congratulations to the construction team at One Park Drive, Wood Wharf.”
This major achievement is topped by the team also being named the overall winner for the London Region, meaning they’re now in the running for the National Award, rounding off a difficult year for construction with a real positive.
