Following several years of sustained growth, structural defects warranty specialist Advantage Home Construction Insurance (AHCI) is continuing to expand its sales and technical team
The structural defects warranty provider has its headquarters in Warrington and its founders opened new offices in Horsham and Birmingham, before opening their latest office in Huddersfield in the first quarter of 2021, after AHCI marked a record period for sales.
Sales director David Sumner, said: “The whole team has worked incredibly hard to continue to serve our clients safely during the pandemic, and the sales team has been extremely proactive, helping to drive our continued success during what has been a very challenging period for many businesses.
“We are currently recruiting more staff for the new office we’re planning to open in central London.”
AHCI provides structural defects cover for a range of projects – from £50m-plus developments to individual self-builds nationwide. The company works closely with self-builders, developers, contractors and housing associations, as well as intermediaries such as local authorities, solicitors, property advisers, architects, financial advisers, banks and administrators.
Last August, it signed a long-term deal with an A-rated insurance carrier, with the new A-rated capacity forming part of long-term plans for the sustainable growth of the business.
Simon Cooper, technical manager, said: “Working systems have changed slightly (as a result of the new safety measures that AHCI has implemented during the pandemic), and we’ve encountered some potential extra challenges when arranging site visits (as some sites have been closed or have been difficult to access). However, we haven’t seen any indication of a lull in the construction industry and we have remained busy.”
He added: “We’ve adapted to the new ways of working” and said that AHCI’s technical team had been very proactive during a period of rapid change.
A period of growth
As AHCI employs its own team of surveyors, who’ve continued to carry out site visits adhering to all Covid guidelines, and the company’s directors had invested in their software and IT network prior to the pandemic, facilitating remote work for office-based staff where necessary, the company was well placed to continue to serve its clients throughout the pandemic with minimal disruption.
Building upon a period of growth for the business, AHCI’s directors will now open the doors to their central London office, giving the company, which works with many of the nation’s leading developers, a presence in the capital.
