HMRC has appointed Mace Interiors to deliver the 270,000 sq ft of category B fit-out at the new UK Government Hub in Nottingham
The appointment is part of Phase 1 of the Government Hubs Programme which includes the creation of 13 state-of-the-art HMRC regional centres, as part of the department’s 10-year modernisation programme.
The new centres will be equipped with the digital infrastructure and training facilities needed to build a more highly-skilled workforce.
HMRC has already delivered Government Hubs in Croydon, Bristol, Belfast, Edinburgh, Cardiff, Leeds and Stratford, London.
Alongside Nottingham, there will be further hubs in Birmingham, Glasgow, Liverpool, Manchester and Newcastle.
‘Future-proofing the government estate’
Colin Casse, HMRC’s director of estates locations programme, said: “HMRC has a long-standing presence in Nottingham and the new Government Hub will be home to our Nottingham Regional Centre.
“Unity Square will provide a flexible modern working environment that can be adapted, should our ways of working change in the future.
“We look forward to working with Mace on delivering our future home in the East Midlands.”
Stewart Ward, managing director of Mace Interiors, added: “We are honoured to be able to work with HMRC on delivering such an important programme, helping to ‘future proof’ the government estate which is key to the wider Government’s transformation and is aligned with the Places for Growth Programme.
“Our work in Croydon and Bristol was a big success and we will deliver another fantastic result in Nottingham.”
Mace has already played a major role in the programme, delivering the fit-out for the Croydon and Bristol Government Hubs.
