The Bank holiday weekend brings about excitement for a whole host of reasons, but for the folk in Peterborough-and visitors from much further beyond-it’s the return of Truckfest that will be raising the spirits.

Truckfest Peterborough, held from 28th April to the 1st May 2017 at the East of England Showground, provides unrivalled access to the entire truck and road haulage industry, from owner drivers and operators, through to the largest fleets in the UK.

In addition, a portfolio of historic motorsport, classic car, motorcycle, music, Land Rover and automotive industrial products will also be showcased.

Building on a record year

2016 was a record year for Truckfest, with the Peterborough event receiving its greatest number of truck entries and subsequently surpassing the attendance capacity of previous years.

One thing is for sure: the 2017 event promises to be everything and more. Whether you’re already a truck enthusiast or quite literally just looking for some family entertainment, Truckfest is sure to be a wonderful occasion for a family day out.

Undoubtedly there will be a lot of interest from the business community around the county, and none more so than local construction company Mick George Ltd, who currently operate in excess of 400 vehicles and employ more than 1,000 people-a large majority of which are occupying vehicle related roles.

However, with the organisation growing rapidly, Truckfest provides the perfect opportunity to reveal what the business has to offer while seeking prospective employees. It’s certainly not a browsing opportunity either, with ‘on-the-spot’ employment for the right candidates a possibility. Vacancies are available in driving, engineering, maintenance and workshop positions.

Their involvement doesn’t end there. As headline sponsors, the business will be putting on a wealth of activities to ensure everyone enjoys the event. Youngsters will be able to relish the chance to meet ‘Mick the Skip’, have their face painted or participate in the ‘Inflatable and Skip Challenge’.

Jon Stump, Finance Director at Mick George Ltd commented: “Truckfest is a wonderful event, that means a lot to the business for a variety of reasons.’

“Clearly it allows us to connect with an audience that has a definitive association with one of our core services, but equally it allows us the chance to unite with the local community in attendance, as well as the opportunity to support Peterborough Arena for whom we have a partnership agreement.”
