Sustainability is crucial in building a greener world for future generations without depleting finite natural resources
Founded in 2010, StormMeister Flood Protection aimed to solve the problems presented by conventional flood doors, which are difficult to operate.
Our managing director, Malcolm Snape, has over 30 years of experience in manufacturing products for the construction industry. He came up with the idea of harnessing the hydrodynamic power of floodwater to seal flood doors and successfully designed the Active Flood Seal.
The resulting product is no more difficult to lock than an ordinary door.
R&D at StormMeister
StormMeister’s innovation did not stop there. Since then, StormMeister has been active in designing and developing not only flood doors but a wide range of user-friendly flood protection products, including flood windows, flood barriers, and flood gates.
We are currently working on several R&D projects, hoping to release new, easy-to-use and high-quality flood protection products in the coming years, including the StormMeister ECO Timber Flood Door.
Eco-friendly timber flood door under development
StormMeister Eco timber flood doors will be made from Accoya, a high-performance acetylated wood from sustainable resources.
Pressure-treated with a non-toxic, naturally occurring chemical prevents cells in Accoya wood from absorbing water, outperforming rainforest hardwoods such as teak. This brings unprecedented reliability for timber, also contributing towards the preservation of the rainforest.
Sourcing materials from responsible suppliers
Sustainability has always been one of our core values.
In the past, we have worked with and encouraged suppliers and forest sources that are actively engaged in a transparent process, stepwise commitment to credible certification. We seek information on the chain of custody of the forest products we purchase, including the circumstances under which they were manufactured and treated. We will continually improve compliance using annual reviews, reports, and actions agreed upon with our suppliers.
Considerations for product lifecycle
We consider sustainability throughout from manufacturing to the end of use for our products. For the new StormMeister Eco flood door range, we will be one of the few companies producing timber flood doors with Accoya, wood ethically sourced from fast- growing forests, specially treated with a non-toxic chemical to provide performances better than most hardwoods. Moreover, it is 100% recyclable when it comes to the end of product life.
High-quality products and services
To ensure our products are high-performing, we periodically test our products in our test tanks and conduct routine inspection and quality check on every order. At the same time, we constantly look for areas of improvement to provide a better experience for our customers.

We also offer a comprehensive ongoing care plan for customers who bought our products. This way, issues are noticed and corrected straight away, ensuring the product works when the flood comes.
We guarantee to provide continued peace of mind and quality services.
