The second international structural waterproofing conference will focus on the themes of design, specification and best practice
The Property Care Association said its upcoming structural waterproofing conference will appeal to a broad range of professions and industries.
The PCA represents the structural waterproofing sector and has committed to drive best practice. Recently, the association introduced a new standard in collaboration with the NHBC. Chapter 5.4 aims to deliver improvements in waterproofing works and was introduced following the revelation claims on basements had cost close to £21m since 2005.
The conference, which will be the second international event dedicated to the topic, will take place on 6 July at The Slate, University of Warwick.
The agenda has been developed with housebuilding, construction, civil and architectural professionals in mind.
Following a three-session format, it will focus on themes surrounding design, specification and best practice. Topics to be discussed will also include concrete in waterproofing, hydrogeology and soil mechanics as well as structural design and ground gas management.
