Graitec acquires Geomap GIS America’s Autodesk business unit

Graitec, a global developer of BIM design and calculation software solutions, has announced the acquisition of Geomap GIS America’s Autodesk business unit

The acquisition is strategic for the interaction between BIM and GIS in the foundation of smart cities.

Hugo Michaud, general manager at Graitec Canada, explains: “In the context of continued population and city growth, discussions of climate change and the importance of sustainable buildings, the construction market is really booming.

“Graitec and Geomap will be working together to make sure information flows between GIS and BIM.”

As a result of this transaction, all of Geomap’s day-to-day operations such as information requests, technical support and training will be managed by Graitec.

This will provide Geomap’s customers with access to a new range of products and such as Gratiec Advantage Service to access to online training, PowerPack for Revit to purchase or renew Revit subscriptions, as well as a range of services, tailored to AEC and manufacturing professionals.

Geomap’s customers will also to access large pools of professional and technical resources, who share their knowledge and expertise with each other daily.

Danick Venne, CEO of Geomap, said: “This alliance will allow Geomap to refocus our team’s efforts on what it does best: providing intelligent information management through M-Files, our company’s content management solution and all our geomatics solutions that support Autodesk and ESRI technology.

“After analyzing Autodesk partners in Quebec, we concluded that Graitec has the best technical team to support our customers on Autodesk products. Geomap will continue to work with Graitec on a daily basis to ensure the transition of subscription contracts and customer satisfaction.”
