The UK BIM Framework has released ‘Guidance Part 2: Process for Project Delivery’ to support practitioners in embedding and implementing BIM
The UK BIM Framework is the overarching approach to implementing BIM in UK developed by the UK BIM Alliance, BSI and CDBB, a core partner of the Construction Innovation Hub. The Guidance serves to support the UK BIM Framework’s mission to develop industry understanding of BIM standards and their implementation.
Together, BSI, CDBB and the UK BIM Alliance are developing and championing one single set of guidance in a clear and concise manner. By delivering a co-ordinated approach to creating and communicating an international wrapper for UK BIM we aim to ensure a smooth transition in the integration of the BS EN ISO 19650 series.
Guidance Part 2: Processes for Project Delivery
The third edition of ‘Guidance Part 2: Processes for Project Delivery’ includes completion of the analysis of ISO 19650-2 clause 5, with new content introduced in respect of clauses 5.5, 5.6 and 5.7.
Other updates include:
- The provision of an ISO 19650-2 resource summary & associated resource map
- Content covering information requirements generally, with consideration of organisation information requirements, asset information requirements & project information requirements
- Content considering the purpose and requirements of the BIM execution plan.
Practical and accessible BIM guidance
Co-editor of the revised Guidance Part 2, Sarah Davidson from the UK BIM Alliance, said: “It has always been the intention that the Guidance documents would evolve over time.
“This third edition, relating to ISO 19650-2 is the result of industry feedback and ongoing collaboration with the community.
“It is intended to provide helpful, practical and accessible guidance to enable adoption of the ISO 19650 standards that are currently available.”
Third Edition of Guidance Part 2
