John Eynon, a UK BIM Alliance ambassador and regular columnist for PBC Today and BIM Today, passed away peacefully on Wednesday 16 June
John Eynon worked in design and construction for over 40 years, specialising in construction design management with major contractors, as well as being a published author, lecturer and popular speaker.
In 2016, he was part of the team that founded the UK BIM Alliance.
John generously lent his enthusiastic, unique and sometimes uncompromising opinions to PBC Today and BIM Today on many occasions.
PBC Today’s managing editor, Andy Jowett, said: “I always looked forward to reading his latest musings, which would encompass sci-fi, time travel, Bond villains, Shakespeare, Game of Thrones, art, philosophy, the universe and everything – as well as valuable insights about the state of digital transformation in construction.
“Always witty and entertaining – and often laced with creatively industrial language – John’s columns were, without doubt, a highlight of each publication.”
Everyone at PBC Today sends their condolences and best wishes to John’s family.
A service for John will take place at Downs Crematorium in Brighton on Wednesday 7 July at 2pm. If you would like to attend, please contact Pam Bhandal at the UK BIM Alliance (engagement@ukbimalliance.org) to be put in touch with John’s son, Michael.
John’s family has requested that rather than sending flowers, donations are made to Mind UK, a charity that was close to his heart. A JustGiving page has been set up at www.justgiving.com/fundraising/uk-bim-alliance.
Rest in peace, John.
