GEO| Design+BIM has announced that Royal HaskoningDHV will organise a programme on Open BIM successes at the event, scheduled to take place from 1-2 November 2018, in Amsterdam

GEO| Design+BIM is a platform that highlights the use of geospatial data analytics and Building Information Modelling (BIM) in asset spatial design, construction, and operation and maintenance.

Jugal Makwana, Global Director Digital Engineering at Royal HaskoningDHV said: “Open BIM standards are vital for efficient collaboration with clients, supply chains and wider contributors geared towards maintenance and development of the built environment.

“Using open, shareable asset information in the creation of civil infrastructure and buildings worldwide will help our industry to become more efficient and will lead to improvements in costs, value and environmental performance.”

Royal HaskoningDHV has recently become International Member of buildingSMART International to lead the development of global openBIM standards. As a content partner at GEO|Design+BIM, Royal HaskoningDHV will organise a session on Open BIM to discuss the importance of open, shareable asset information in the design and construction of civil infrastructure and buildings. Several industry representatives will be sharing how Open BIM has proven to be key to their business and successful collaboration. The session is scheduled for 2 November.

“We applaud Royal HaskoningDHV for taking the leadership role in promoting the importance of open standards in construction industry. This partnership adds a lot of value to GEO|Design+BIM as we strive to create a content-rich and user-focused conference for our audience,” added Anamika Das, Vice President, Outreach and Business Development at Geospatial Media and Communications, the conference organiser.
