The speakers have now been revealed for the first in a series of events dedicated to BIM…
London and the South East BIM Regions alongside the University of Westminster are hosting a number of BIM events. The first of which will be hosted on the 14 October.
Now, the speakers have been announced for the first event: “What is BIM?”
The event will see the five speakers talk for around 10 minutes, with a question and answers session at the end.
The speakers include Terry Stocks, Dale Sinclair, David Shepherd, Casey Rutland, and Richard Lane.
Stocks, who is head of Public Sector at Faithful & Gould, has experience implementing BIM at the Ministry of Justice. He is also the current chair of the Cross-Government BIM Stewardship Group.
Sinclair is the Director of Technical Practice, AECOM. He is also the lead author of RIBA Digital Plan of Work.
The third speaker, Shepherd, is set to publish the BIM Handbook and works as BIM Manager at Lendlease.
Arup Associates Global Architecture BIM Lead Casey Rutland will also speak at the event, as will Richard Lane, Training Development Officer & Implementation Consultant for the UK BIM Task Group. Lane has experience implementing BIM across numerous government departments, including the Ministry of Defence and the Department of Health.
The event on the 14 October will be followed by six additional seminars dedicated to informing and helping beginners to gain confidence using BIM

11 November 2015: Why Adopt BIM?
9 December 2015: How to Implement BIM
20 January 2016: Utilising BIM Technology
10 February 2016: What good data looks like
2 March 2016: BIM and Contracts
23 March 2016: Level 3 BIM, Digital Built Britain
The BIM Regions form part of the BIM Task Group and were set up to raise awareness of BIM. It was previously branded as the Regional BIM Hubs.
