The Centre for Digital Built Britain (CDBB) has appointed the British Standards Institution (BSI) as hub facilitators for the Digital Twin Hub (DT Hub)
The DT Hub is the latest in a number of initiatives for CDBB’s National Digital Twin Programme.
Start-up funding for the DT Hub has been provided by the Construction Innovation Hub to align and accelerate industry development of digital twins.
The DT Hub offers the opportunity for the community to collectively learn through doing and progress through sharing.
It will launch with six organisations who own, or who are developing, digital twins within the built environment. Organisations interested in joining can register their interest with CDBB.
CDBB and BSI will work with members of the Digital Twin Hub to develop exemplar use cases and demonstrators for digital twins; and, inform future standards and supporting guidance on digital twins and data sharing.
Alexandra Bolton, executive director of the Centre for Digital Built Britain, said: “The transformative potential of digital twins lies in connecting them together, providing greater insight through wider context.
“We are excited to partner with BSI to launch the DT Hub to provide industry with a test bed for secure, data sharing within and between digital twins.”

“The DT Hub has a vital role to play in sharing knowledge, agreeing common approaches and informing future standards that can help to de-risk investments and accelerate the benefits. We’re delighted to be working with CDBB and the founder members to shape and facilitate the Hub.”
Keith Waller, programme director of the Construction Innovation Hub, added: “The establishment of the Digital Twin Hub is a milestone event for the Construction Innovation Hub.
“Together with CDBB and BSI, we are committed to working with early adopters of digital twins to use their learnings to accelerate the digital transformation of the construction and infrastructure sector.”
