Featuring dozens of modular building case studies, the latest, double-sized issue of the Modular Building Institute’s Modular Advantage magazine explores all the winning projects from MBI’s 2022 Awards of Distinction contest
MBI’s modular building awards are presented in a variety of categories, including several each for permanent modular construction projects and relocatable buildings. Excellence in innovation, “green” modular construction, and marketing are also recognized. Awards are also presented for Best in Show in each major category.
MBI’s 2022 Modular Construction Industry Hall of Fame inductee Ralph Tavares
This issue of Modular Advantage also includes a look back (and forward) at the career of Ralph Tavares, MBI’s 2022 Modular Construction Industry Hall of Fame inductee.
Tavares shares many insights into the industry and says, “I’ve been in this industry for over 35 years, and I’ve seen it skyrocket lately. I’ve never seen before the level of interest we have now.” So the demand is there. However, he says persistent problems are labor and training and that the “building codes need to be more friendly to modular construction, and we’re trying to make that happen.”
MBI-member DIRTT discusses the benefits of smart construction
Lastly, this issue of Modular Advantage features an article from MBI-member DIRTT, creators of interior construction created by technology.
The article, “The Key to Adaptable Smart Buildings is Less Construction, More Assembly”, discusses the benefits of smart construction and the value of interconnected environments upon the health and productivity of building occupants.
