“Hello, Friends! IT’S HARD TO BELIEVE IT’S BEEN A YEAR ALREADY. When I joined MBI’s Board of Directors several years ago, I did so because I was looking for a way to give back to the industry. Little did I realise that my time on the Board, which culminated with serving as Board President this past year, would seem so brief in retrospect. But when I look back at what MBI has accomplished these past years, it’s pretty remarkable.
Together, among many other things, we’ve:
- Navigated multiple legislative and regulatory crises
- Created billons of dollars of new business for the industry in the US and Canada,
- Helped develop offsite building standards that have been adopted by multiple states,
- Jump-started state-level modular building programs across the country, and
- Expanded World of Modular to Europe and invested in strengthening our global presence.
But beyond those accomplishments, what brings me the most pride is the growth of MBI itself. Since 2019, MBI has more than doubled its membership. Of course, this growth is partly due to our outreach to design professionals, developers, and contractors, as well as to more international manufacturers and suppliers, but beyond those efforts, MBI has grown—and is growing—thanks to the overall growth of the modular construction industry.
I’ve been in this industry a long time, and I’ve attended MBI’s World of Modular conference for many years. I’ve seen this growth firsthand. And when I attended World of Modular Europe last year in Brussels, every belief I had about the industry—and the value of MBI—was reinforced.
Modular and offsite building is the future of construction. Excitement about the industry’s potential is growing around the world. And MBI is the best organisation on the planet to represent us all going forward.”
