Berkeley Group has awarded the Royal Warwick Square project to Vital Energi, to deliver an extension of the mechanical and electrical infrastructure installation for the £3.8m energy solution
The Royal Warwick Square project was awarded to Vital following a long-standing relationship with the developers, and previous experience working on similar schemes.
The scheme will see Vital Energi install additional equipment into the existing energy centre from the first phase to cater for the extra demand from the 6 new blocks, including two boilers and a 210kWe CHP engine.
The new buildings will see low-temperature hot water, chilled water and low voltage connections to serve the 6 new blocks, as well as the installation of a new chiller plant room at basement level and associated roof mounted plant. Vital has created a construction schedule to minimise disruption to other contractors onsite.
Royal Warwick Square is a collection of 1, 2 & 3 bedroom properties with private leisure facilities in the Royal Borough of Chelsea and Kensington.
Rob Callaghan, Regional Director for the South for Vital Energi, said: “We are delighted to be working with St Edward to deliver an extension of their existing energy solution.
“We have carefully considered all site activity and the wider community to present a construction plan with little disruption, and look forward to implementing the scheme.”
Work has been scheduled to start in February 2019 and will last until February 2020.
