Kier has secured a £14.5m contract with The London Borough of Hounslow to upgrade over 7,600 fire doors across its housing stock over the next three years
The work will be carried out by Kier’s Specialist Services business, which has extensive experience in delivering fire safety works.
It’s specialist teams will be assessing front entrance fire doors and subsequently designing, supplying and installing replacements.
Testing of these doors will also be carried out, as well as digital records and training provided to the client.
This latest win for Kier follows its appointment to Camden Council’s £620m framework and its reappointment by Gosport Council to carry out housing maintenance for the next five years. Kier’s extension deal with Gosport Borough is worth around £30m, will run for the next five years from April 2021.
Important upgrades to housing stock
Mark Whittaker, managing director of Kier Specialist Services, said: “I am pleased to be working with The London Borough of Hounslow to provide important new upgrades to its housing stock.
“We have vast experience in replacing fire doors and our skilled teams will diligently carry out this work, whilst engaging with local residents.”
Kier recently achieved the Carbon Trust Standard for the first time and is one of only three contractors in the construction sector to achieve this.
