ACE has appointed Claire Clifford as head of business support and corporate services and Karis Thain as the new head of member engagement, groups and Scotland
Claire has worked in the retail, technology, and housing sectors, as well as helping start-ups and SMEs through her consultancy.
On top of supporting ACE and EIC, she will be refreshing our member advice offering in this area in 2021.
Claire Clifford said: “I am looking forward to helping members better navigate the ever-changing world of HR.
“Given my diverse experience I believe I have a lot to offer, especially for SMEs who tend to need more support in this space. I’ll be sharing more details in the coming weeks of how I will be helping ACE and EIC members create thriving workplace cultures.”
Karis joins from another prominent membership organisation, Oil & Gas UK where she held a number of roles, including most recently as membership manager.
She will oversee member engagement and groups for ACE and EIC and is currently based in Aberdeen. As well as this, she will manage ACE Scotland, supporting the work engaging Holyrood on construction and infrastructure.
Karis Thain said: “I believe both organisations have a lot of potential and I’m looking forward to better understanding what matters most for ACE and EIC members, and how we can adapt our offering to meet their evolving needs.”
‘Reshaping of our organisation’
Darrell Matthews, director of membership and business engagement at ACE and EIC, said: “Karis and Claire’s appointments are a milestone in the reshaping of our organisation and I am delighted that we have now filled these positions.
“I would like to thank members for their understanding through what has been a period of transformation for us.
“In their short time with ACE and EIC, both have already brought new ideas, energy and enthusiasm.
“I’m sure members will also start to see the benefits over the coming months as they grow further into their roles which, in the current climate, are both focused on supporting members.”
