Amey appoints new HR director

Amey has appointed Karen Hopley as its new HR director in its transport infrastructure executive team

Hopley will take responsibility for the operational HR team focused on working with local teams to enhance the skills and capabilities of over 5,000 employees within transport infrastructure, covering highways, waste collections, rail and power major projects.

Her priorities will be to focus on supporting individuals and teams to excel through clear talent management, as well as refreshed training and development programmes to further build operational and behavioural expertise.

Experience

Hopley has undertaken a variety of HR roles at G4S. Most recently, as the HR transformation director, with responsibility for the development and deployment of the company’s global HR management and recruitment system to improve the efficiency of HR processes.

She has also led the HR function for the Secure Solutions business, determining solutions to deliver the business strategy including mobilising new contracts and introducing a new recruitment strategy.

Prior to G4S, Hopley held senior HR roles with BT and Canon.
