McLaren has appointed former Kier business development manager, Bruce Clarke, as its new business development director for the South

Bruce Clarke was named business development director for McLaren’s South business unit this week.

Clarke becomes a member of McLaren leadership team for the South region.

Bruce Clarke was previously Kier’s business development manager for almost four years and prior to that he was at Osborne as senior business development manager.

He has over 20 years’ experience. His new role is to drive new business for the South region, with existing and future customers, and to help maintain McLaren’s customer relations.

Jay Newman, managing director of South at McLaren, said: “Effective business development is essential to our success.

“Bruce will bring energy and drive to the role, increasing our capacity for identifying opportunities and customer needs. He is a great addition to the team.”

Bruce Clarke takes over from Steve Yates, who joined Wates as business development manager in August.

Yates previously spent six years at McLaren. He will now drive growth in Wates Construction’s pipeline of projects in London, initially focusing on the company’s key sectors of commercial office and mixed-use and residential developments.

McLaren has recently begun work on the £11m shopping centre renovation programme in Royal Tunbridge Wells. Works include replacing the flooring throughout the building and the installation of new, high-quality seating areas and bespoke rooflight features.

The 35-week project will also see McLaren remove the innermost staircase to make way for structural alterations which will open up the ground floor space for more retail units and enable the introduction of a locally designed art installation.
