AG Project + Building Consultancy (AG) has appointed Catherine Newton as project manager and director to head its housing division
The property consultancy made the strategic appointment in response to the increasing demand for tailored and expert advice in the provision of housing.
Catherine Newton has 14 years experience with construction management consultants Poole Dick Associates, and has extensive experience with complex and large social housing schemes – ranging in value of up to £24m.
She was also project manager on large mixed-use schemes, spanning from residential, extra care, student accommodation, retail, offices and hotels.
Newton will work with the housing team to grow and deliver its housing pipeline, both new build and regeneration.
She will be project lead on the multi-million-pound refurbishment and regeneration of the 1960s Mainway housing estate in Lancaster, a project expected to take about five years to complete.
Guiding the team through large and complex projects

Catherine’s appointment follows AG appointing Paul Westhead as development director, bringing more than 30 years of property expertise advising and working with local authorities, the third sector, institutional investors and private developers.
In November 2021, Building magazine published its influential consultants’ league table and named AG as one of the top 150 consultants in the UK.
