Mace recently announced the promotion of David Martin to head of defence in its consult business, bringing over 20 years infrastructure programme delivery experience

Most recently David Martin worked as part of the team which successfully laid the foundation for paragon commercial delivery partner for Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S), a model which has been successfully replicated to further secure COMM DP, the delivery partner for the whole of the Ministry of Defence’s estate.

As Mace’s new head of defence, Martin will expand the organisation’s capability and service offer in this sector, building client relationships and driving digital technologies to tackle programme challenges.

Established in 2016, Mace’s defence business has expanded successfully and rapidly, now providing a wide range of fully integrated project and programme management services, alongside construction management and strategic advisory, acting as the trusted delivery partner to the UK’s defence sector.

Mace builds and deploys unique, integrated supply chains and works with clients and alongside design teams to incorporate security resilience and frameworks at the design stage of a new build or refurbishment project.

Capitalising on the sector’s growth

Jason Millett, CEO for consultancy at Mace, said: “We are delighted to promote David as the new head of defence within Mace’s Consult business, capitalising on the sector’s strong growth in the last couple of years, both domestically and internationally.

“With new government investment committed to transform the UK’s defence infrastructure, David will help expand Mace’s capability in delivering highly secure, complex programmes of vital national importance.”

David Martin, head of defence at Mace, said: “I am excited to continue to grow Mace’s capability in the defence sector both in the UK and internationally, using my experience in project and programme delivery to be part of such an ambitious expansion plan.

“There is a wide scope for innovation in creating resilient defence networks, from providing strategic advisory services to leveraging digital tech from the design stage of project and programmes.”
