Devan Mistry has been appointed as associate director (strategic BIM lead) to drive forward McBains expertise on BIM

Devan Mistry is a RIBA-registered architect with more than 13 years’ experience in the industry covering a wide range of projects, both in the UK and internationally.

Mistry will lead on innovation in digital engineering and technology

As new BIM lead for McBains, Mistry will lead on innovation in digital engineering and technology including the development of Digital Twins, the Metaverse (AR and VR) and driving a collaborative, efficient and standardised approach to Building Information Modelling and data management.

He previously held the position of practice BIM lead at Marchese Partners but his career began working for Farrells in the UK and Hong Kong, covering the commercial and hospitality sectors.

He has also worked for HOK and PRP, working on projects such as the London Olympic Park neighbourhood, Westfield Stratford, and build-to-rent at Wembley Park.

Mistry led PRP to win the Building Awards BIM Initiative of the Year 2018

At PRP, he led the team which won the Building Awards BIM Initiative of the Year 2018 for Smart Regeneration at Clapham Park – the project was the largest ever, single detailed planning application of its kind in the UK, delivering 2,532 homes in 9 months.

Clive Docwra, managing director, McBains, said: “It’s a pleasure to welcome Devan to McBains. His strong background in cutting edge design and use of new technology will further enhance McBains’ offer to our clients.”

Create a collaborative and modern digitisation of workflows and drive further success with BIM implementation

Devan Mistry commented:  “I am very excited to have joined McBains at this crucial time for the company’s journey to create a truly collaborative and modern digitisation of workflows and drive further success with BIM implementation.

“Together we will look to use our expertise as a catalyst to promote a holistic shift towards a model-driven approach to design, delivery and operation of constructed assets.”
