Esh Build appoints seven senior figures to support regional growth

Esh Build, the commercial build and refurbishment division of Esh Construction, has appointed seven recruits to its Yorkshire team as it continues to grow in the region

The appointment of senior positions is part of Esh’s aim to restructure and develop key areas of the business by investing in experienced professionals to drive the company into the future.

Andrew Schofield and Clynt Hiscoe both joined from GMI Construction, where they worked for over 20 years each. Andrew joins as operations manager, while Clynt has been appointed as contracts manager.

Both are excited to bring their industry insight and strategic approach to the major projects Esh currently has, including the Ironworks scheme in Leeds.

Jonathan Buttle joins the team from STG Group, where he worked for 20 years as a senior estimator. He joins Esh in the same role, Jonathan said: “I was looking for a role that allowed me to work on a variety of projects that differ in both size and sector. This role does that.”  

Other senior appointments included Damian Hood, who joins from Wates as a senior planner. Neil Widdowson takes up the role as managing quantity surveyor, and will use experience gained from his last role at Sir Robert McAlpine. Gerrard Owens has been appointed as senior quantity surveyor after his last role at Graham.

Owen Blaney starts as technical manager following a decade at Kier. Owen brings with him experience across sectors from health and wellbeing to custodial, retail and major commercial developments.

Blaney added: “I have joined Esh Construction at an exciting time and look forward to contributing to the growth and vision of the company.”

Stuart Leslie, divisional director at Esh Build, said: “We are excited by the key appointments to important parts of our team in Yorkshire.

“They all bring great levels of experience which will complement the experience and skillsets already in our Yorkshire divisions. We are continuing to build for the future and these high-level appointments will help to cement that growth.”
