International engineering federation FIDIC is on the look out for young professionals from the engineering sector to sit on its influential Young Professionals Forum steering committee (YPFSC)

The forum gives young professionals under the age of 40 working in the international consulting engineering sector the opportunity to participate in the key activities of FIDIC.

The steering committee, which oversees the work of the young professionals forum, helps to develop capacity building, communication and networking opportunities for all young professionals involved in the community.

Through a range of activities, including newsletters, dedicated webinars and seminars, articles and campaigns on social media and a number of face-to-face networking opportunities, members of the steering committee help to represent the voice of FIDIC young professionals around the globe.

The steering committee also organises the annual FIDIC Young Professionals Symposium and awards that takes place during FIDIC’s annual international infrastructure conference.

Chair of the FIDIC young professionals’ forum, Cosmin Tobolcea, general manager of Romanian consultancy firm Pro Toby, said: “Young professionals that get involved in our work get to meet some great people as part of our network who can help guide them in their future careers as consulting engineers. I’d strongly encourage people to think about joining our committee.”

The FIDIC Young Professionals Forum steering committee is now accepting member nominations and all young professionals under 40 working for FIDIC international member association member firms are encouraged to apply to sit of the committee.

Those interested in applying to be a member of the steering committee should send a nomination listing the name of the candidate and a copy of their CV to YPF@fidic.org with a copy to FIDIC@fidic.org.

The deadline for submission of nominations is 11th December 2018.
