Helen Gordon, chief executive of Grainger has been appointed as president of the British Property Federation (BPF)
Helen Gordon succeeds Robert Noel, chief executive of Landsec, who stood down as president at the BPF’s annual Summer Reception.
The BPF has appointed Guy Grainger, EMEA chief executive of JLL as its new junior vice-president.
Grainger will take over the junior vice-president role from Argent managing partner David Partridge, who becomes the BPF’s vice-president.
Melanie Leech, chief executive of the British Property Federation, commented: “Helen has been a member of our presidential team for the past two years and I look forward to working with her this year as president to further improve understanding among our key stakeholders of the property sector’s social value, and our positive impact on the quality of people’s lives across the country.
“As the BPF’s new junior vice-president, Guy’s experience and current role working across EMEA will bring a valuable breadth of perspective to the leadership of the BPF.
“These appointments, with David completing the presidential team, will ensure the BPF retains and enhances its reputation as the voice of UK property.”
Helen Gordon, added: “I am honoured to take on the role of BPF president and my focus over the next year is enhancing the recognition of our sector’s contribution to society and the understanding of our contribution to people’s lives and the communities we serve. This provides continuity with last year’s presidential theme and reflects the importance of this issue for our industry.
“Our industry, in common with others, is being increasingly scrutinised and challenged to demonstrate that it is having a net positive impact on society. The physical connection we have to people’s lives – the importance of the physical environment to people’s health and wellbeing – means the property sector not only has a particular responsibility but also a huge opportunity to demonstrate its credentials.
“I look forward to working together with the BPF executive team to improve our industry’s perception – one that is seen as a true partner to Government and one that underpins national objectives and local community aspirations.”
