The Crossfield Group has appointed Iain Sutton, previously in senior roles at Wates for 22 years, as its head of operations

As a senior appointment within Crossfield Construction, Iain Sutton joins a team that is delivering schemes across the education, leisure and private residential and social housing sectors.

Sutton is a familiar face to many of Crossfield’s senior team with directors David Cain, John Paul Cassidy and Lucy O’Connor, along with group commercial manager, Tom Dillon, having all previously worked alongside him during their careers.

Since it was founded in 2012 by founders David Cain and John Paul Cassidy, Crossfield has experienced steady growth, with its team now 65-strong across the company.

As well as Wates, many members of the Crossfield senior team have experience in working at major contractors including Willmott Dixon, Kier, and Vinci.

Crossfield Construction has recently completed development of 130 residential apartments in Liverpool’s Baltic Triangle and is several weeks into creating a new £2.6m T Levels building at Cardinal Newman College in Preston amongst its current projects.

Invaluable knowledge and experience

Michael Macaulay, director at Crossfield Construction, said: “Iain is a highly respected figure in the construction industry and we are delighted that he has chosen to join us at Crossfield.

“As we enter our next stage of growth, it is key that we invest in the right staff and we are extremely pleased to have attracted someone of Iain’s calibre. His knowledge and experience will be invaluable in the delivery of our future pipeline of work.”

Iain Sutton said: “I’m thrilled to be joining Crossfield at such an exciting time for the business. Having worked with many of the senior team previously, coming on board was an easy decision to make.

“I’m extremely impressed at the future order book here and I’m looking forward to bringing new ideas and knowledge from my previous roles, to support the future growth of the business.”
