Jacobs has appointed Willie Fraser as head of its rail and geotechnical business, responsible for leading around 900 rail and geotechnical specialists in the UK and Europe, helping to deliver major projects
The projects and programmes being worked on include Western Rail Link to Heathrow, Transpennine Route Upgrade, High Speed 2 and the Lower Thames Crossing.
Jacobs Buildings and Infrastructure Europe, senior vice president and general manager, Donald Morrison said: “With a history of working on major rail infrastructure including Doha Metro, Crossrail and Dublin Metro North, Willie brings a great depth of rail and major programmes experience to this key role as we continue to support the UK and Ireland transport needs and make progress in Europe with our clients.”

Fraser joined Jacobs in 2006 as rail director for Scotland and went on to hold leadership roles as head of projects and head of operations for Jacobs’ rail operating unit and for its programme management-construction management in Europe. Glasgow-based, he is a chartered civil engineer and has some 23+ years’ experience primarily leading major rail projects and programmes.
