Irwin Mitchell recruits Jonathan More as new partner in London

New partner Jonathan More joins the Construction & Engineering Team at London based law firm Irwin Mitchell

The latest appointment takes the specialist construction team up to eighteen with four partners.

Currently, it is led by Mark Clinton and sits within Irwin Mitchell’s Property Division which now numbers 28 partners and 147 qualified lawyers.

Previous experience

Jonathan More was previously the lead construction disputes partner at chambers practice, Spencer West LLP.

Before then, Jonathan More worked at Fenwick Elliott where spent time on a number of significant construction related disputes.

He advised on a significant c. 1 billion USD International Arbitration (ICC) comprising a series of disputes in relation to major infrastructure project in the Middle East.

Others included advising in relation to a c. £50m R&D renewable power plant project dispute; advising in a multi-million EURO DAB dispute relating to a series of claims in respect of an Eastern European power plant; and finally advising in relation to a major refurbishment dispute relating to a private domestic residence valued at over £20m in one of London’s highest resi-value property streets.

More has acted for one of the top contractors in the UK and Europe known as TCC and advised on disputes all over the world including Saudi Arabia, Brazil and Hong Kong.

His career also includes advising on some of the UK’s most high-profile projects such as Scottish Parliament, Edinburgh Trams, London Overground’s East London Line extension and Crossrail.

Other experience Jonathan More has benefitted from includes his eight years of working in-house.

He also became an expert on NEC contracts after spending six years between 2009 and 2015 working for TfL and Crossrail.
