Mark Castle has stepped down from his role as chief operations officer for construction at Mace, as Andrew Jackson is appointed to the position
Mark Castle joined the company in 2004 to set up Mace Plus, its early fixed-price contracting business. He was appointed to the Mace Group board in 2013 and has played a leadership role in Mace’s construction business throughout.
From 2017-2019 he also served as chair of Build UK, the industry’s leading trade body. Castle will continue to support Mace going forward and will become a non-executive director to the group executive board.
Andrew Jackson will be appointed as Mace’s chief operating officer for construction from April 2021, reporting to Gareth Lewis, Mace’s CEO for construction.
Andrew Jackson is currently managing director for Mace’s international technology business, delivering major projects in Europe. He joined Mace in 2015 as business unit director for the residential sector, bringing with him some 30 years’ experience from the construction industry.
As the chief operating officer for construction, Jackson will be responsible for continuing the transformation of how Mace delivers the built environment for clients – from driving the adoption of a ‘construction to production’ approach to improving quality and compliance and radically reducing the carbon used in the construction process as part of Mace’s commitment to being a net-zero carbon business.
