Ramboll appoints new UK head of rail

Ramboll has appointed Mike Birch as head of rail in the UK – Birch joins from Capita Infrastructure where he was head of rail, project and cost management

Mike Birch will lead Ramboll’s continued growth in the rail sector, building on the successful appointment to the Network Rail Design Services Framework.

He will also support the Digital Rail programme on the East Coast Line, as well as a strong portfolio of work on High Speed 2.

Birch joins Ramboll from Capita Infrastructure, following thirteen years at Halcrow, CH2M and Jacobs where he held various roles including project delivery director.

He has over 27 years of experience in the infrastructure sector covering design, maintenance and management within both private and public sector, with a proven track record in creating and leading large multi-disc teams and delivering business and project solutions from concept through to completion.

Transport business growth

Dan Harvey, transport director for Ramboll in the UK, said: “I am delighted to welcome someone of such high calibre to our team.
